PNG / JPG / WEBP differences
These three formats are common for very different reasons, so the best choice depends on the kind of image you have and where it will be used.
PNG
PNG is often chosen when sharp edges or transparent backgrounds matter.
It can feel safer for logos, interface screenshots, and graphics that should stay clean.
JPG
JPG is common for everyday photos and general image sharing.
It is often a practical choice when the file should stay light and transparency is not important.
WEBP
WEBP is often chosen when you want a more web-friendly image or lightweight visual asset.
It can be useful when you want smaller files for modern web use.
